Millington cum Givendale Parish Council

Welcome

Millington Church News

Sadly in early February the lead was stolen from the chancel roof of St Margaret`s Church in the middle of the night and a large hole was left causing water damage to the inside.  A tarpaulin was quickly put up until repairs can be done.  The lead did have Smart Water on it to help with finger printing should it ever be found but in the meantime if anyone ever sees anything suspicious around the church or village please do report it to the police.

On a happier note the church has received a grant from the National Lottery Heritage Fund.  For more information see `Millington Heritage`,  which can be found under the main menu heading `News and Recent Events`.

to Millington cum Givendale Parish

We hope you will find our website a helpful and informative source of news for residents and visitors.  Covering parish events, places to go, places to stay and things to do, aswell as information on all aspects of the Parish Council`s work.

The Parish is rural by nature and is situated on chalk land at the start of the Yorkshire Wolds, embracing the villages of Millington and Givendale along with the outlying communities of Ousethorpe, Grimthorpe and Little Givendale.

We have alot to be proud of.  Millington cum Givendale parish is surrounded by beautiful countryside, walks and cycle routes; and is home to a traditional CAMRA awarded pub, a tearooms and restaurant, a village hall and two historic churches.

A warm welcome to new residents (see Village Diary) and to all visitors - please use our carpark, thankyou
